“All of the work that Karl and Ernie did for me exceeded expectations. There is not a guest that walks into my house that is not drawn to and amazed by the island and bartops that LR Custom Fab have built. Karl and Ernie were able to take my idea and walk me through the possible materials and adjustments to turn my idea into their artwork.”

-Adam, Hillsborough N.C.

“LR made a custom expandable modernist table for us and dealt very professionally with the project. Now we are proud owners of the table we always wanted! It was great to work with Ernie and Karl.”

-Felix and Marianne, Chapel Hill N.C.

“LR precisely reproduced a custom bench with a complicated lattice back.  Their work is far superior to the original!  Lattice pickets are interlocked with recessed screws with the screw holes filled in with epoxy and finished out so well that you cannot even tell that the wood was ever touched. The original was finished with wire brads and fell apart. The LR version is solid as a rock! Ernie and Karl were an absolute pleasure to work with!”

-Don, Durham N.C.

“We have a treasured walnut dining table that needed refinishing. After calling around we made our way to Karl and Ernie who had been recommended to us.  They took the tabletop and completely refinished it to an incredibly smooth satin finish.  The tabletop ended up so much better than it had ever been!  We would not hesitate to recommend LR for anything they decide to take on.”

-Joan and Jerry, Chapel Hill N.C.

“Finally the perfect table! The quality and craftsmanship speaks to the talent and creativity that Karl and Ernie bring to their work. Without a doubt these guys are making some of the the most robust and stunning furniture in the custom market. Now we just need another room in our house to justify a second piece from these guys!”

-Sam, Efland N.C.

“I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe people are brought into our lives for a reason. I met Karl at a Sherwin Williams, we were both buying paint, we got to talking, I told him I’d just signed a lease to open a performance arts space and needed a bar. We discussed our ideas and vision and ultimately came up with a plan to use local black walnut with a maple inlay as the bar top with some 45 degree corners and then use the same maple for the front or the bar. The project came out better than we could have imagined. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture, a true piece or art, a center piece that wows everyone who sees it and touches it. They were professional, prompt, courteous and passionate about their crafts and they built a one of a kind bar for The PIT-Chapel Hill at 462 W Franklin St.  If you’re interested in the kind of work they do, come by and see for yourself.”
